Below you will find information about what children in Year 1 will be learning throughout the year, as well as some pictures and information about some of our learning activities.

Autumn Term

In Year 1, we truly enjoyed our Autumn term exploring creativity through our 'wind socks' project in Design and Technology! We began with engaging discussions about the best materials to use and how to make them sturdy. The excitement peaked when we took our wind socks outside to test their effectiveness. It was a wonderful opportunity for hands-on learning, and we were thrilled to see our ideas come to life! 

Spring Term

During the Spring term, we have been learning how to use Beebots. We practised giving directions such as forward, backwards, left, and right. At first, we followed instructions on how to move, and then we explored how to implement those directions on the Beebots. We even discovered that we could create different routes to reach the same destination.
