Year 4
Welcome to the Year 4 page of the Honilands Website.
Autumn Term
Last term, in Religious Education, Year 4 explored what it means to be a Hindu in contemporary Britain. The students learnt about the significance of ritual and daily prayer, as well as the concepts of puja and reincarnation. To reinforce this learning, the entire year group visited the Dharma Mandir (temple) in Enfield, where they received a warm welcome from Jason, the community outreach officer. The children were treated to a captivating yet approachable retelling of the story of Rama and Sita, complemented by some expert drumming. They thoroughly enjoyed their experience at the Mandir.

Spring Term
Year 4 has been busy becoming amazing artists!
We have been exploring different painting techniques and learning all about colour theory, including how to mix colours to create beautiful shades and effects. The children used these skills to create their own stunning flower paintings. They carefully observed shapes, colours and details to make their artwork really stand out. We also took inspiration from famous artists Georgia O’Keeffe and J.M.W. Turner. Year 4 loved looking at how these artists used colour and light in their work, and they tried out some of these ideas in their own paintings. We are so proud of the creativity, effort and imagination shown by Year 4. Their artwork has truly brightened up our classrooms!

Below you will find information about what children in Year 4 will be learning throughout the year.
