Honilands Local Governing Board
Honilands Primary School is part of Children First Academy Trust. Our Local Governing Board (LGB) is a committee of the Trust Board, providing local oversight, support and constructive challenge to the Headteacher and senior leadership team.
The Trust Board retains overall accountability. Our governors carry out the responsibilities delegated to them through the Trust’s Scheme of Delegation.
The role of our governors
Governors monitor progress against the School Improvement Plan and consider how effectively the school meets the needs of its pupils. Their work includes reviewing educational outcomes, safeguarding, inclusion and SEND, attendance, behaviour, pupil wellbeing and the impact of additional funding.
Through meetings, school visits and engagement with pupils, staff and families, governors help ensure that decisions support our children and the wider school community.

Meetings and monitoring
The Local Governing Board meets once each term to review school performance and progress against improvement priorities. Governors also undertake school visits and monitoring activities.
Meeting discussions and agreed actions are recorded. Approved minutes are available on request through the school office, subject to the removal of confidential information.
