Safeguarding

Safeguarding everyone in our whole school community is a main priority at Honilands Primary School. We are committed to ensuring that our children always feel safe and secure. This involves a wide range of policies, procedures and supportive arrangements. We have a strong culture of safeguarding and work tirelessly to keep your children safe, secure and well cared for. It is only when children feel safe and secure that they will be able to be happy and ready to learn.

All staff and volunteers in our school are DBS checked and all staff, by law, have a duty of care to report any concerns they might have regarding a child to a Designated Safeguarding Leader (DSL).

THE DESIGNATED SAFEGUARDING LEADS FOR OUR SCHOOL ARE:

    • James Irvine
    • Susan Moore
    • Shirin Masud
    • Angela Maisary.
    • Hazel Menezes

Through our curriculum we teach children to stay safe and happy, this is supported through PSHE lessons and Circle Time. This work is also supported through regular assemblies and working with outside agencies such as Childline, NSPCC, Internet Safety Leaders, the police and other groups delivering workshops on Prevent issues and Knife Crime. We encourage the understanding that any problem or worry that they may have is legitimate, and to share their worries, big or small with a trusted adult; at home; school or with ChildLine.
